As part of WhyNot's ongoing research on the relation between the body, movement and architecture, WhyNot invited choreographer and OFF VENUE artist Connor Schumacher and photographer Angela Lidderdale to reflect on the subject. Angela and Connor collaborated to create a structure and concept for a three day workshop which investigated how social interaction is affected within the confines of architectural space. In a series of guided movement workshops, participants were led towards a dance improvisation, in dialogue with the architecture of the city, in order to interact, respond, construct, demolish and create together.
A selection from the photos were printed as posters and spread throughout Amsterdam West from 24 June - 7 July as part of the mini-exhibition 'The State of Dance in the City'.
